Tanger : The pearl of Northern Morocco. Tanger is both : As the pride or the pearl of Northern Morocco Tanger is cosmopolitan and historical. Situated beneath the Street of Gibraltar, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea it is THE doorway to Morocco. A lot of Cruises stop in Tanger to visit one of the magnificent moroccan sights, and so do travelers from Spain, who want to get in touch with the magical country of Morocco.
What to do in Tanger? : Well, you are at the Seaside, so visiting the Port of Tanger is a MUST. Watch the fishing boats bringing in their daily haul, and try the delicious fish plates in one of the restaurant near the harbour. Visit a natural site, such as the Hercules Cave about 30 km away from the city. The cave looks like the map of Africa and from the near restaurant Mirage, you can watch an unforgettable sunset.
Watch the sunset at Hercules Caves : When you visit the Souks of Tanger you can directly walk to the center of the Medina, which is called Socco Chico. There you can see one of the Sightseeing Hot-Spots – the great Mosque. If you like to do some shopping, we recommend the Souk Dachel in the old town or Souk Casabarata, there you can buy souvenirs but also clothes and jewelery. The contrast of the ancient old and modern new is something to observe while walking the streets of the uprising city Tanger.
